Recovery Premium

For the year 2024-25, all mainstream, maintained schools receive £145 per child eligible for Pupil Premium to fund catch-up support necessitated by the schools' full or partial closures from March 2020.  At Vigo Village School these funds are spent almost exclusively on increasing teaching assistant (TA) support.  It is felt that the TAs familiarity with the children and working relationships with the teachers would be most beneficial for the circumstances.  TAs work with groups and individuals, in liaison with the class teacher, to accelerate the progress of those most disadvantaged by the lockdown.
